Painted in acrylic paint on vintage Japanese rice paper, I was inspired each day at the beginning of lockdown to paint a different dog. Using a mainly monochromatic colour palette I wanted to capture each dogs personality in a different way, using layers of colour to depict the solid form of each figure.

These portraits have been professionally framed in a black frame with a worn edge detail to compliment the medium. The delicate, double layered texture of the rice paper is captured underneath the glass.

Framed these pieces measure 13.5cm wide x 33cm high. A wonderful size for displaying in a pair or set, or as a striking piece in an special spot.
